WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE?
This has been used in China for more than 2500 years to help prevent, diagnose and treat a variety of illnesses and improve well-being.
HOW DOES ACUPUNCTURE WORK?
It strengthens the immune system by increasing T-cell counts, and also causes the body to release pain-killing endorphins which play a role in the functioning of the hormonal system. Endorphins are also released through acupuncture, which relax the body and the mind. Acupuncture also increases circulation that in turn provides needed nutrients to nerves and muscles to begin healing.

INFECTIONS ALLERGIES ECZEMA PSORIASIS ACNE TINNITIS DIZZINESS HEADACHE COLITIS INDIGESTION DIARRHEA CONSTIPATION ARTHRITIS NEURALGIA SCIATICA TENNIS ELBOW BACK PAIN BURSITIS TENDONITIS ANXIETY STRESS DEPRESSION INSOMNIA and many others…
WHAT HAPPENS IN AN ACUPUNCTURE SESSION?
Needles, that are as fine as human hair, are left in place for 20 to 40 minutes during which time the patient relaxes under a heat lamp while soft music plays.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
The number and frequency of treatments will vary. Some symptoms are relieved after the first treatment, while others may require 4 to 10 treatments. Your body, your chemistry, your particular problem and length of time you have been ill will all play a part in the number and length of treatments.
ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?
Acupuncture works without drugs or chemicals. It has no known side effects and is perfectly safe and comfortable for almost everyone.
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO HAVE ACUPUNCTURE? WHAT IF I AM PREGNANT?
This is recommended for patients 10 years and older. Patients who are pregnant or suspect they may be pregnant should avoid acupuncture.
WHAT IS HERBAL MEDICINE?
Herbal medicine refers to the use of any plant’s seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark or flowers for medicinal purposes.
HOW MUCH DOES A SESSION COST?
Each acupuncture session is $70. There is a 10% discount for seniors 65 years and older, children 18 years of age and younger as well as students.

WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE?
Chiropractic care is one of the largest primary care professions in Ontario. It is a natural health care discipline that focuses on disorders of the spine, joints, muscle and nervous systems, and the effects of these disorders on overall health. A chiropractor finds and corrects subtle biomechanical flaws that affect the way you move and feel. This improves the function of the body and can play a significant role in helping you reach your physical potential. Chiropractic is widely recognized as one of the safest, drug-free, non-invasive therapies available for the treatment of headache, and neck and back pain.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE FIRST VISIT?
Dr. Hall will take a complete health history and ask specific questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to properly diagnose the problem. This will include a neurological examination, an orthopaedic examination, a postural assessment, and a chiropractic spinal assessment. Your health concern may require referral for additional tests, such as X-rays, to either rule out more serious conditions or assist in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. An individualized plan of management will then be discussed with you to address your needs. It may also be necessary for Dr. Hall to consult directly with your family physician prior to beginning treatment.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING A TREATMENT SESSION?
Dr. Hall primarily utilizes hands-on diversified chiropractic techniques and soft tissue therapy for the treatment of back pain, neck pain, cervicogenic headaches, and other musculoskeletal injuries. Treatment may also include physical therapy modalities such as ultrasound, interferential current (IFC) or transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). Exercise consultation (including stretching and core stabilization), postural advice and other healthy living suggestions may also be warranted. For foot, leg or lower back problems, custom made foot orthotics may be recommended to reduce pain and improve function.
WHAT IS A SPINAL ADJUSTMENT?
A spinal adjustment is a highly skilled and precise movement usually applied by hand to a spinal joint. An adjustment helps relieve pain and loosens the joint to restore proper movement and optimize function. Chiropractic adjustment techniques have been researched extensively. Complications are rare and side-effects, such as temporary soreness, are usually minor.
HOW MANY TREATMENT SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
This will depend on your diagnosis, age, physical condition, how long you have had the current complaint, and previous injuries. A few or several visits over a relatively short period of time may be necessary. Once the severity of your condition has decreased through relief care, corrective care is available to help restore normal function to your spine, muscles, supporting tissues and the nerves affected by them. For some people chiropractic treatment is like a regular tune-up, to help deal with the daily wear and tear of life. For others, it’s simply an effective treatment when pain or discomfort strikes.
WHAT IF I AM PREGNANT?
Chiropractic treatment is suitable for almost anyone. Treatment methods are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual, from children to seniors, pregnant mothers and athletes. Low-force spinal adjustments or Activator adjustments can be utilized to suit your individual needs.
